EXPLORING OUR BACKYARD WILD LANDS
Few weeks ago I reached out to Lorenzo, a friend of mine who owns a 4x4 Suzuki Jimny and asked if he was keen to do a one-day round trip through Matese National Park, a mountainous, wild area which sits among Campania and Molise, in Southern Italy.
Some days later, we were driving the one-hour road that would have taken us there.
The place has some similarities with UK landscapes such as the Scottish Highlands and the Snowdonia National Park in Wales. Even if the human presence here is heavier, the scenery retains a certain level of wildness to it. In addition to this, I couldn’t have asked for a better day to go out and shooting, since fog came in just at the right time adding a lot to the mood I was looking for.
